Project Overview & Brand Background

Founded in 2023 by Yash Mehta and Vaishali Mehta, Joyspoon is a D2C brand reinventing traditional Indian mukhwas. Backed by 100X.VC and featured on Shark Tank India Season 4, where it secured a deal with OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, Joyspoon was scaling rapidly across quick-commerce platforms such as Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Blinkit.

However, their direct-to-consumer store was not ready for the surge that national television exposure brings. The objective was clear: build a robust Joyspoon Shopify website that would not only survive a Shark Tank broadcast but also convert that brief attention into loyal, repeat customers.

Preparing a D2C Storefront for a National Television Traffic Surge.

A national TV broadcast sends tens of thousands of shoppers to a website within minutes. The storefront needed no render-blocking scripts, instant mobile navigation, and custom gift box bundling for festive and corporate orders.

The legacy platform suffered from slow load times and a generic user experience that failed to capture Joyspoon's artisanal brand ethos. It needed a tailored approach to Shopify development for D2C brands, one that bridged the gap between a premium product and its online customer journey.

Custom UI/UX Strategy

Designed a mobile-first, high-trust visual layout reflecting Joyspoon's airport kiosks and natural ingredient philosophy.

Dynamic Gift Box Customiser

Coded a vanilla JavaScript bundle selector that lets buyers pick artisanal mukhwas in glass or tin jars and build their own assortments.

Frictionless Mobile Checkout

Designed one-click checkout funnels paired with instant UPI payments, a key part of the Shopify conversion optimisation work.

Technology Stack & SEO Implementation

Shopify Ecosystem & CMS Integrations

The Joyspoon website is built natively on Shopify. Instead of a heavy marketplace theme, I wrote custom Liquid templates. This gave granular control over the DOM and significantly faster rendering, which is critical for retaining surge traffic from Shark Tank India.

I integrated key APIs to keep inventory in sync across quick-commerce channels and set up a CMS structure that lets the founders manage seasonal collections easily.

SEO & Performance Optimisation

To make sure the Shark Tank India brand website captured organic searches after the episode aired, I put a thorough SEO plan in place: semantic HTML5 structure, automatic WebP image compression, and rich-snippet schema markup tailored to D2C food brands.

Performance work involved removing render-blocking JavaScript, enabling edge caching, and deferring non-critical scripts, which delivered 100% uptime and sub-second load times.
